Tennis- Spain wins the Davis Cup

12 Dec

Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer along with Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez gave the victory to Spain in the Davis Cup for the second consecutive year. Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer won the single matches respectively; Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez won the double matches and they all gave a lesson of skills and demonstrated that Spain has many more talented players like Rafael Nadal. The victory over the Czech Republic team is the fourth one of the Spanish team since 2000 and they have become the first nation since Sweden to win two consecutive Davis Cup titles. Nadal’s performance was much more livelier then that shown in the ATP World Tour finals tournament that was held one week before, and where he didn’t win any of the matches that he played just to go home empty handed. He first faced Tomas Berdych in the opening round and David Ferrer defeated Radek Stepanek, giving the victory to the Spaniards in the first round for singles. For doubles Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez gave a hard time again to Tomas Berdych and Radek Stapanek winning the match on doubles. The ending point was set again by Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer, winning both their single matches again facing Jan Hajek and Lukas Dlouhy. Nadal defeated Jan Hajek 6-3, 6-4 and Ferrer beat Lukas Dlouhy 6-4, 6-2 on the indoor clay. “First thing, you have to have good players,” Nadal said, referring to his team. “In Spain, we have a lot. Sure, last year was disappointing for me not to be there, but for sure the team was better. Read the rest of this entry »

Barclay’s ATP World Tour Finals Davydenko vs Del Potro

01 Dec

This match looks like it could be closely contested but Davydenko’s odds are better.

ATP tennis
is a lot more wide open than it used to be.  Underdogs have a much better chance of taking down prestigious titles now than they did in the past.  That Nikolay Davydenko and Juan Martin Del Potro, two players that were both longshots pre-tournament, are meeting in the final is not terribly surprising at this point on the ATP tour.

Nikolay Davydenko and Juan Martin Del Potro will be meeting for the 4th time in their careers and for the first time in 2009.  Davydenko leads the head to head series between the two players 2-1 and he looks like the correct pick for the match.

Here are the prices for the two players, each to win the final:

Juan Martin Del Potro: -150 (2/3;)
Nikolay Davydenko: +130 (13/10;)

Davydenko has been absolutely dynamite, not just in London, but post-US Open.  His angles, depth, and pace are better than anyone else’s on tour at the moment and he has already proven so much by beating Roger Federer and Robin Soderling, who is on top form, in back to back matches. alg_tiger-woods

Celebrity Palm Beach Post blog Page2Live.com has a 9700 photo, Tiger Woods’ home-square-foot built on Jupiter Island in South Florida.

All interested in the construction of this mammoth house was forced to sign a confidentiality agreement when construction began after Elin and Tiger Woods bought this and the four adjacent plots
in 2006 to 44,5 million dollars. It is reported that they had destroyed all the houses on 12 acres to make room for new real estate and surrounding landscapes.

Is it any wonder that golfer Tiger Woods was all to build his house Jupiter Island sign a confidentiality agreement? I mean, look at this place! This is something between a motel and a discount on the beach nursing home! But hey, from what I have said, Woods Swedish hostess, Elin Nordegren, calls the shots on this one. Woods bought four adjoining sites on the island of Tony Martin County-record 44.5 million in 2006. Then he tore down the existing homes on 12 hectares, including classic Bahamas-style Manse. The new 9700-square-foot house is divided between the living quarters (right photo above), as well as a gym (left side). Both sides will be connected with the glass track, in accordance with the drawings. Well, that plans call for as much foliage around the house, that only a few passers-by can see! Indian Cricket The Fallen Idol

26 Sep

Champions League T20 Cricket Tournament
to begin on Oct. 8, 2009, but without any of the Pakistan team.

After 26/11 ‘S Mumbai attacks and subsequent attacks on the Sri Lanka players in Lahore, private part of any of the Pakistan cricket team in events staged in India and created a drought of cricket events in the soil of Pakistan. The impact was seen as negative and dangerous for the future of Pakistani cricket
and for players who wanted to play an international team and gain experience. However, in my opinion, the exclusion from Pakistan to make money IPL tournaments like the Champions League and brought a new challenge for the national team.

After winning the T20 World Cup this year, the attitude of the Pakistani cricket team seems very positive. Under normal conditions of alienation and isolation from international cricket could have a negative carried the team morale and confidence, but by the grace of Allah, Pakistan seems to have elevated himself from all the negative conditions. Temporary burning, not participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has become a big cheer when we saw the Indian team bearing the biggest insult of losing T20 World Cup so badly and it is also a self-declared candidate in the form of cricket, in connection with the IPL tournament . Not many days passed before we saw India declared at the top rating in the slot in one day international cricket world, but they met an ignominious failure in the other big event of Champions trophy in South Africa where the Indian team performance was slightly better than the second team West Score Indies. More ironically, wash with tears the Indian cricketers, ICC stepped forward to save with some pride. ICC awards showered on the Indians to ensure the future of bucks to be earned from advertising and sponsorship from Indian companies. Read the rest of this entry »
